The Basic Course is sponsored by The Construction Law Foundation of Texas and The Construction Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, in cooperation with The Texas Institute of Continuing Legal Education. The two-day course is designed for construction professionals and lawyers who want to gain knowledge of Texas construction law and will be taught by experienced construction lawyers who will emphasize the practical aspects of construction law, including discussion of construction contracts, Texas lien laws, and construction disputes and their resolutions. Akshaya Iyer, Associate Consultant
Ms. Iyer holds an advanced scheduling certification in Primavera P6 Professional, has held the national Graduate International Team Lead position in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and currently serves as the Treasurer of the SWE Austin section. In her role at Spire, she assists clients during complex construction disputes by conducting contract reviews, performing forensic schedule analysis, analyzing specific issues for causation, quantifying damages and drafting sections of reports.
Justin Vogel, PMP, Associate Consultant
Mr. Vogel is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI). As an Associate Consultant with Spire, he assists clients with the post-construction forensic analysis of abnormal weather, productivity impacts, issues, and damage quantifications. Additionally, Mr. Vogel performs schedule updates of cost-loaded schedules, per USACE requirements, which allows him to quickly and accurately inform clients of project events, potential problems, and corrective actions.
